In the official press release, Activision states that, " Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series." This seems to suggest that this is the first time that the series will not be making an appearance on PS3 or Xbox 360 since Call of Duty 2 in 2005. Using a cryptic campaign on Snapchat, Activision officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which is being developed by Treyarch. Even though there are still two expansion packs set to release for the latest entry in the series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Activision has already started hyping the next game in the franchise. Like clockwork, a new Call of Duty game releases every year in early November.
